"I recommend Christy English to anyone who is serious about exploring not only the art of acting, but the art of living. She has given me a newfound ability to focus on the other person, on the relationship, and on being present and in my moment. I trust my instincts now more than ever. That self-conscious, negative voice in my head is quieter, and I have discovered a carefree and intuitive joy in this art form."
“A few years ago, I was a kid with a dream that I nervously spoke about to only those I completely trusted, and I "acted". Now I'm an actor who owns his dream, passionately, confidently,
"I am so thankful to have found Christy. Before her, my creative soul felt like it had gone through a bashing and I felt a little lost and "not feeling good" about myself and my place in the industry. Through her Seminar, it kicks my butt business wise…. It’s really shifted my views on myself (and my body) inside the industry and instead of spiraling into depression and kicking myself,
"Christy English has helped me attain my goals faster than I envisioned. In The Working Actor class we worked on vision, creating and maintaining a positive mental attitude (something we each need at different times in our career ;-)) and the steps necessary to systematically achieve my desires. We focused and practiced techniques to help us accomplish our individual goals as well as examine what we accomplished and still needed assistance with including cold reading tips and on camera work. Christy is very patient and keeps things fun. She provides detailed coaching and you need to do the work. It can be challenging; however, she and the group are there to help you through your blocks and congratulate you on your wins!. Another benefit of the class and Christy is her pulse on what is happening in LA which she shares. I recommend this class to students of all levels still needing to achieve business goals."
Christy’s class is incredibly creative and resourceful. It stands out because it supports you in all aspects of your life. In this business, talent alone isn't enough; you need to be at your best as a person. Christy helps you get specific with your goals, understand and own your type, refine your look, build confidence, and identify and overcome the blocks that hold you back. Plus, she’s an excellent acting coach! Thanks to her coaching, I went from being a working actor in San Francisco to auditioning for Guest Star, Recurring, and Series Regular roles for network television in Los Angeles within 6-12 months—without even moving to LA. I now audition more in LA than many actors who live there.

Enrollment in our weekly classes (kids, teens, adults) continues month-to-month as students progress through the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of our training. Considering that each group progresses through our curriculum at varying speeds, there isn’t a set end date for the class.
Bay Area Acting Studio teaches the Meisner Technique of acting. If you haven’t studied this technique before, you’ll need to start off in a beginning-level class so that you can learn all of the important foundations of our curriculum.
If you’ve previously studied the Meisner Technique, please email info@BayAreaActing.com so that we can discuss opportunities that may be available.
Per our studio's 30 Day Cancellation Policy, if students ever need to cancel or pause their enrollments, they must email a written notice to our office 30 days before their final day of class. Their final tuition payment is prorated so that they only pay for classes that take place before their enrollment expires. Cancellation notices must be emailed to info@BayAreaActing.com.
The Meisner Technique is a world-renowned approach to acting that was developed by the legendary teacher Sanford Meisner. It is a proven technique of training that effectively gets actors out of their heads and able to bring emotional truth to their scenes - making this the most effective technique for on-camera acting!
While we can’t guarantee anything, many of our students do get agents! We actually offer programs that educate our students on how to refine their acting materials (acting resume, demo reel, headshots), submit to agents, navigate meetings with agents, and more.
While we don't have audits or trial classes available, we'll be more than happy to schedule a visit so that you can check out our studio and discuss our programs with a staff member in further detail. To schedule your visit, please email us at info@BayAreaActing.com.
Per studio policy, Bay Area Acting Studio does not have audits or trial classes available. This policy is in place out of respect for our students’ privacy.
Of course! We regularly offer beginning-level acting classes that would be the perfect opportunity for you to begin your acting journey. No previous training or experience is required for these beginning-level classes.
After your first month of class, subsequent tuition payments are automatically processed on the 1st of every month using the card that’s linked to your Bay Area Acting Studio account.
In order to schedule a make-up class, students must notify their instructor and our office (via email) before their absence takes place. We cannot schedule make-up classes for students who notify our office after they miss a class - we need advance notice.
Meisner-trained actors learn to get out of their heads, actively listen and react to their scene partners, and bring emotional truth to their work. This results in actors who are able to adapt within their scenes moment-to-moment, as well as more authentic acting work.
Yes! We’re proud to say that many of our students - kids, teens, and adults alike - regularly let us know how our training helps them feel more confident as performers, as well as more comfortable with public speaking in work and classroom settings.
