Having directed Internet films full-time throughout the past two years, Christy Butchers has had the privilege to work with an online substance abuse treatment company. Christy has found it intrinsically rewarding to work with an amazing team in the development of a product that is creative, entertaining, and important.
For the past year, Christy has written, cast, directed and co-edited a film about teen addiction that has received accolades from as high as General Barry McCaffrey, former Secretary of Defense for the US government, and advocate for chemical dependency treatment. The teen film was shot on Digital Video using a Sony DSR 300.
Christy’s background is acting, from both an educational and personal vantage point. She was selected from thousands to study acting with the legendary Sanford Meisner in the West Indies, and went on to train with him in LA for four years. She finished his two year private intensive then continued in his master class (Meisner Lab). –see actress
Christy has been called an actors’ director. She has a huge respect for the process that actors go through, she is there to support them one hundred and fifty percent.

Christy has a way with working with a cast and crew under the most intense circumstances and remains calm and focused. She is able to work within budget and time frame, maximize performance and creativity in scenes, and still get the most out of her actors.
Christy recently submitted a scene to project Greenlight (Director contest) and made the top 250 out of thousands.
